Getting ready for the Conference!

The planning for the Conference is fully underway! The new girls group, Girls Can't Do WHAT?!, has a lot of great ideas for the 9th Annual Girl Power Conference. So far we have talked about different activities we want to see at the Conference, how to engage peolpe at the Media Conference, and maybe even of hosting some mini-events at the lunch break!

The group has been doing a lot of hard work, but we have also been having a lot of fun! The best part is getting to meet the other girls and find out new things about them. The more we learn about each other the more we realize we have a lot in common and have a lot of great qualities to share with each other.

The Girl Power Conference is a really great place to meet new friends and try new things. We are in the process of setting the schedule, and confirming great activities. More information can be found in The Key.

Girls Can't Do WHAT?!

At the first meeting on January 18, the girls advisory group came up with an awesome group name: Girls Can't Do WHAT?! This is a perfect name because, as we all know, girls can do whatever they set their minds to! Girls are strong and have a lot to offer!

This terrific new group is the voice of everything Girl Power. The girls get to have their say in events and conference activites. They might even be special presenters at the Girl Power Conference! Together we share our thoughts and ideas about what it means to be a girl and what things we want to try in the future. And don't forget our yummy snacks!

Come out and join us! Our next meeting is on Wednesday February 8th from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Canada Games Complex (420 Winnipeg Avenue).
